First 24 hours

Dear friends,

Jamie's family is exhausted tonight and can't write down what happened just yet.  There are lots of different scenarios floating around about what exactly happened to her.  Her family will write a more detailed account in the next day or so, but for now they have asked that I tell you that she fell backwards off of a culvert in Hell's Canyon to rocks about 12 ft. below and sustained major head trauma.  She was life flighted to Boise where she underwent emergency brain surgery that lasted about 3 hours.  Jamie is currently being sedated and kept in a coma to allow her brain to heal.  She has been very responsive today and the family has much hope.  Please keep Jamie, Nick and their entire family in your prayers.  The next two days are extremely critical.  We will continue to post updates as they become available.

May our Precious, Righteous Lord behold you and yours. May he UPhold and BEhold.

  48. Brave girls sent me.....praying for a complete recovery. 14 years ago this past May 10 (and it was Mothers day to top it off) my son was in a car/bicycle accident and suffered a traumatic brain injury. What a long road to recovery it was...I look back and think without my faith, family and friends I would have not been able to get through that very hard time. He was in the hospital a long time and recovered so well...he is now 28 independent and doing well. I believe in prayerful healing and he is my testimony that prayer WORKS. Saying a prayer now and sending love to family and friends in this most trying time.

  49. My own beautiful daughter fell victim to H1N1 a few years ago, and was gravely ill. We nearly lost her. She experienced miraculous recovery, in large part due to the prayers of strangers from around the world. Though we have never met, you can be certain I am praying for you and your precious Jamie and expecting a miracle. May you all be given the strength, wisdom, faith and endurance you need to bring Jamie through this, to complete recovery. You all have my love, prayers and healing thoughts from Minnesota.

  60. Lord, thank you. Thank you for this technology that we can all join here and encourage this family. You are good, Lord, and your love endures forever. I just ask that you, please - wrap your arms around this gal. Please comfort her, heal her body, direct her physicians - also giving them peace and clear knowledge on how to tend to her. Draw this family close to you during this time, Lord. Although we don't always have a clear understanding of why things happen - your Word reminds us (Romans 8:28) that All things work together for the GOOD for those who love you. Bring them peace, Lord and in your own way through these difficult days ahead remind them ever so gently of your presence and your mercy. Thank you, Lord. In your Son's precious name, Amen. <3

  99. I am coming from Brave Girls' Club. I do not know Jamie but I want you to know that I am thinking of you and Jamie and your family are in my prayers. I know only too well how it feels to see your loved one in that hospital bed. I have been an RN for 22 years. My 17 year old son was born with a congenital heart defect. Many times when he was a baby we thought he would not survive. Three years ago his condition got worse and he had to have a heart transplant. He went through rejection and again we thought we would lose him. He survived and is alive and doing well today! When I thought I was alone strangers and friends reached out to us. I felt their prayers and hope you feel ours now also. God will get you and Jamie through this. I will pray hard today for her speedy recovery!

  123. My heart is breaking for her family tonight as I personally know how exhausting this is going to be on her family. I lost my sister in law a month ago to a very aggressive brain tumor that not even she knew that she had and was going to have the same kind of brain surgery Jaime had but she would not of survived the surgery and she too was put in a medicated coma to help heal her brain as she had no brain activity. The fact that she has moved is a very good sign and yes, there is so much hope that she will come out of this. I will pray for Jaime and her family as they prepare for what I know will be one of the most difficult like challenges they as a family will go through!
