Jamie is Home!

Just wanted everyone to know  that Jamie has been home since Wednesday 6/20/2012 and is doing great. When she was released, her primary doctor asked her one question, "How have you done this?" He stated that he has seen people recover physically from something like this, but he has never seen someone recover with the whole package this quickly. He specifically mentioned the "light in her eyes," and that he has never seen someone cognitively recover so quickly and have that light. The doctor knew he was witnessing something bigger than himself and mentioned more than once that this was truly amazing and that typically people with her injury spend months in the hospital. She was out in 2 weeks! Jamie is our miracle!

This has been and continues to be a miracle from heaven, yet there is still more that she needs to do with rehab and yet another surgery to put her skull back in place so, I continue to pray for this miracle to be completed in her life. All your prayers, thoughts, actions and positivity have brought this miracle to pass...THANK YOU ALL SO SO MUCH!! Please continue to pray for her so that the end of this injury will come quickly without any complications.

I hope and pray all of you who have given so much receive an overflowing of blessings in your lives.

Jamie is scheduled to have a final CT scan around the 13th of July and if all looks good should have her final surgery to put her skull back around that time. We are praying for that!

  1. She is amazing, but we already knew that. I know it has a lot to do with faith, all the prayers being sent her way and her positive attitude can work miracles. We love you all and hope all is well. XOXO

  2. Nick and Jamie, that is so great. We prayed for Jamie every night during family prayer and kept her in our thoughts. The Dr is seeing a true answer to prayers and the blessings of our Heavenly Father. Congrats on getting to go home Jamie.

  3. Dearest Nick, Thanks for the update! I know so many of us have been wondering how she is doing. She and you and your family are never far from my thoughts and prayers. This truly is a miracle. Do you know the story of when I was 2 1/2 I fell out of our car that Mom (Grandma Wanda) was driving. It was an older model that had the doors that opened "backwards". (this was in 1951) I was in the back seat and opened the back door. The wind caught it and threw me out onto the road. The car was traveling about 50 miles an hour. You Dad, my brother Joe, said, "Mommy, Karen just flew out of the car like a leaf!" My Mom looked in the rear view mirror as she was putting on the brakes and saw me lying in the road. I was convulsing and bleeding. The doctors did not give Grandma and Grandpa Hilton much hope for my life and said they needed to drill holes in my skull to release the pressure from the bleeding. But, before I went into surgery I received a Priesthood blessing. When they did the final x-ray before the surgery, the build up of blood and the swelling was gone and no drilling was needed. I was released from the hospital 10 days later and never had any residual problems. Truly another miracle!! Over the years people have said "No wonder you are like you are - your head was cracked!! :) I love you guys. Jamie is remarkable. She will be alright. She is so blessed to have a loving husband beside her. Aunt Karen (Gramie K)

  7. This is not a miracle. It's called medicine and good surgeons hard at work. It's thanks to them you're alive.

By the way, I know this post is a little old, but hope it's not too late to wish you a nice recovering in the next weeks. Good luck and keep being strong!
